24/7 Emergency Locksmith in California Polytechnic State University, CA

Lock rekeying alters the internal pin tumbler combination of your existing lock cylinder so that old keys no longer function, while a new key operates the lock smoothly. Rekeying allows you to retain your existing handlesets and deadbolts, making it significantly more affordable than purchasing and installing brand-new hardware.

For your safety and legal compliance, our locksmiths require proof of authorization before unlocking any property or vehicle. We ask for a government-issued photo ID along with proof of occupancy or ownership (such as a utility bill, vehicle registration, lease agreement, or matching address on your driver's license).

No. Our professional locksmiths practice non-destructive entry methods. Using specialized lock picks, decoding instruments, air wedges, and bypass tools, we open over 98% of standard residential, commercial, and automotive locks with zero damage to the lock mechanism, weather stripping, door frame, or vehicle paint.

Modern deadbolts feature deadlocking plungers and anti-shim strike plates that make credit card bypass impossible. Poking improvised wire tools into pin tumblers bends brass springs, jams driver pins, and shears metal fragments into the keyway, turning a fast non-destructive unlock into an expensive lock replacement.

To make unexpected lockouts as convenient as possible, our mobile technicians accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), digital payments (Apple Pay, Google Pay), and cash upon completion of the service.

Do not force the key with pliers, as this almost always shears the key off inside the cylinder. A stuck key is usually caused by worn internal pins, loose cylinder set screws, or dry tumblers. Spray a small amount of dry Teflon or graphite lubricant and call our technician to safely extract the key and service the cylinder.

Our mobile workshops carry hardware and replacement cylinders from industry-leading manufacturers, including Schlage, Kwikset, Yale, Medeco, Baldwin, Corbin Russwin, Sargent, Arrow, Defiant, Master Lock, and Adams Rite for commercial aluminum storefronts.

If the lock cylinder is loose, sticking, or you simply want to invalidate old keys, rekeying or minor latch adjustment is usually all that is needed. Complete replacement is recommended if the brass housing is cracked, the deadbolt was kicked in during an attempted break-in, or you wish to upgrade to higher ANSI security standards.
